NMR spectroscopy

NMR spectroscopy

A routine method to characterize our new compounds is the nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR spectroscopy).  Our group uses the following JEOL NMR spectrometers:

JEOL JNM ECZS 400 MHz NMR spectrometer:  399.79 MHz, 9.39 T, for special 1D and 2D NMR experiments (dynamic NMR, kinetics, X nuclei measurements, etc. at variable temperature) and service measurements, auto-sample changer (30), auto-tune probe system, equipped with a 5 mm ROYAL probe (high sensitivity on HF as well as LF channel) and a 5 mm digital TFH probe (1H{19F}, 19F{1H}, X{1H}{19F}) for HF: 1H and 19F; LF: 31P to 15N, 39K, 109Ag, variable temperature range from –100 °C to +150 °C.  In addition, a 10 mm low-gamma probe is available (HF: 1H; LF:103Rh to 15N), variable temperature range from –50 °C to +120 °C.  For NMR operator use, only.  On field since April 2017, sponsored by funds of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF support codes 03SF0502 and 03HY105I).

JEOL JNM ECX 400 MHz NMR spectrometer:  400.18 MHz, 9.40 T, for routine 1H, 13C, 19F, and 31P NMR experiments, auto-sample changer (16), auto-tune probe system.  For trained post-docs and PhD students.  On field since May 2007.

JEOL JNM EX 270 MHz NMR spectrometer:  269.72 MHz, 6.33 T, for routine 1H and 13C NMR experiments.  For post-docs, PhDs, and experienced master students.  Our “R2D2, is on field since April 1990!  R2D2 has become our dearest friend – what a spectacular machine!
